The CASMI Scholarship Program application process is now open. Applications must be postmarked by May 1, 2017.

Who is Eligible?

  • Applicants to the CASMI Scholarship Program must be:
  • Employees or dependents of full-time employees of CASMI Primary Member Companies (spring manufacturers) or dues paying subsidiaries or branches of CASMI Primary Member Companies with a minimum of one year of employment at the time of the application deadline.
  • Students who plan to enroll or who are already enrolled in full-time* study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, graduate school or vocational-technical school.

*Full-time study is defined as full-time enrollment for the entire upcoming academic year.


How Much Is The Award?

  • Approximately fifteen (15) undergraduate awards of $1,500 each will be awarded to undergraduate students.
  • The number of awards to be given each year may vary.
  • One (1) award of $2,500, the Terry & Jerry Reese Postgraduate Scholarship, will be awarded to a student enrolled in an advanced degree or a professional degree program.
  • A student may not apply for undergraduate and graduate study in the same year.
  • Awards are not renewable, but students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

How Are Scholarship Recipients Selected?

  • The CASMI Scholarship Program is administered entirely by Scholarship Management Services, a Division of Scholarship America.
  • Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, honors, work experience, statement of goals and aspirations, unusual personal or family circumstances, and an outside appraisal.
  • Financial need is not considered.
  • All information received is considered confidential and is reviewed only by Scholarship Management Services.

How Do I Apply?

  • Interested students must complete the application and mail it along with a current, complete transcript of grades to Scholarship Management Services postmarked no later than May 1, 2017. Grade reports are not acceptable - transcripts must be supplied.
  • On line transcripts must display student name, school name, grade and credit hours earned for each course, and term in which each course was taken.
  • Applicants will receive acknowledgment of receipt of their application. If an acknowledgment card is not received within three weeks of mailing, applicants may call Scholarship Management Services at (507) 931-1682 to verify that the application has been received.
  • Applicants are responsible for gathering and submitting all necessary information. Applications are evaluated on the information supplied; therefore, answer all questions as completely as possible.
  • Incomplete applications will not be evaluated.
  • All information received is considered confidential and is reviewed only by Scholarship Management Services.
  • No CASMI Staff, Officer or Member ever sees the applicant's information.
  • Qualified undergraduate applicants may apply to the program each year they are enrolled or plan to enroll in an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school.
  • Qualified postgraduate applicants may apply each year they are enrolled or plan to enroll in an accredited graduate or professional degree program.
  • These awards are not renewable. You must reapply each year. Students are encouraged to reapply on a yearly basis as long as they continue to meet the eligibility requirements.

How Are Awards Paid?

  • Scholarship Management Services process scholarship payments on behalf of CASMI. Payments are made in equal installments on August 15 and December 30 of the year in which the scholarships are awarded.
  • Checks are mailed to each recipient’s home address and are made payable to the school the student attends.
